Lava Earth Objects
Art and sculptures inspired by the desert
Lava Earth Objects is an art and design studio based in Porto, Portugal, creating handmade objects, sculptural pieces, and bespoke works for residential, hospitality and creative spaces.
The studio develops both its own collections and custom-made pieces, working closely with designers, architects and clients to create objects and installations tailored to each space. From individual sculptural objects and lighting to larger scale wall pieces and bespoke commissions, each project is developed with attention to material, proportion, texture and the atmosphere of its surroundings.
Our work is rooted in a fascination with the desert, its quietness, raw textures, muted colours, and the sense of time embedded in its landscape. These qualities are translated through a tactile, hands-on process using materials such as ceramic and recycled paper, with much of the work shaped, textured and finished by hand.
Some pieces are produced in small quantities or as one of a kind works, while others are created exclusively for a specific project. At times, a single project may involve producing a larger series of pieces, each made specifically for the space.
